Chloe’s Courage Fund Trophy Awarded to 5-Year-Old Nathan
By Staci Fruth
Our family was honored to present a trophy to 5-year-old Nathan during his hospitalization at Miller Memorial Children’s Hospital in Long Beach, California the week of the 8th anniversary of Chloe’s passing.
I must say, as I entered the doors of this hospital, the setting and atmosphere triggered an onslaught of emotions. Although I was overwhelmed with sadness and a flood of memories from our time with Chloe in the years of her treatment, I also felt overwhelmed with pride that my daughter had the foresight and the compassion to launch Chloe’s Courage Fund. She was not only a bright young lady, but her heart for others was as big as the outdoors.
While I may never understand why Chloe’s life had to be so short, making her dream come true, awarding trophies and medallions to kids and families facing life threatening illness, constantly reminds me what a gift it is to be Chloe’s mom.
